Re: Whatsthisthen?
I thought it looked Renault-ish, never imagined a Tatra.
Looked up "Chromka" and came up with this:
It is quite colourful!
The rear engine was a bit unexpected in a Renault that size but having learned to drive in an R8 and then my girlfriend having one I thought it possible.

Spot on, The badges on the boot describe it as a Tatra 613 "Diplomat V8". Here's the engine in the boot just about fits.Stickyfinger wrote:T613 "Chromka" from Tatra
Plenty of additional pictures here

Funky fungus sticky. I'm into mycology and I'm clueless. I'll hit the books later.

Indeed it is an Earth Star, not that uncommon, but good to see nonethelessNewcastleFalcon wrote:Stickyfinger wrote:I do NOT have a clue.....as seen in Somerset (not a rain forest)

You wait 'till you find a Phallus Impudicus out there - you'll smell it before you see it, but once you've seen it, you'll not forget it in a hurry

Re: Whatsthisthen?
Had a lovely trip up from Dundee to Aberdeen behind the wheel of a Bristol RE based coach once. Think it was an ECW body which looked much more modern than the 1966 build date suggested. That thing pulled like a train.
Some testing on a private road had it well off the clock and back around to nearly zero again - was still pulling but we ran out of road...the joys of things pre-dating the motorway speed limits...

Early 60s. Tell that by the fashions..
Car is possibly a kit car... They were very popular around that period and often based on a Ford Pop chassis and running gear...
It's a pretty little thing though... The car, not the woman!!!

Well, it's not a Citroen, a Renault, a Peugeot, a Simca and not a Matra so far as I can tell so now I'm out. Can't think of any other mainstream makers....
