Re: Post your 5000 mile or more average mph/mpg
Over the last 6500 miles my late 2004 2.2 HDI C8 which has been remapped to about 150 bhp returned 48 mph average and 36.7mpg. It includes 700 miles of towing a laden car trailer and a similar amount of an unladen one.

Re: Post your 5000 mile or more average mph/mpg
Bought my 2008 C8 2.2HDi 173 at 20,000 miles and it's now at 92,000 miles.
Before purchase I reckoned on about 30 MPG and so I'm not unhappy with the 32.42 MPG I've achieved since purchase. Being the anorak I am I've logged every drop of fuel that has ever gone into it so I know it's correct !
I might do better if I didn't live nearly 1000 ft above sea level and have to drive my wife to and from work nearly 700 ft lower but only 5 miles away. The downhill stretch never fully compensates for the uphill slog !
Cheers

Re: Post your 5000 mile or more average mph/mpg
bought my 2008 2.2HDi 173 tourer on 57k in november and have just hit 63k and during that time it has averaged 42.2 mpg on the computer and a little nbit more usuing brim to brim figures. very happy with that. Its shortly to receive a DPF/EGR delete and remap so should free up a couple of extra MPG as well as a lot more pace!

Getting closer to another 5k and still improving mpg. Don't think I will get 50mpg but not far away. Cold weather doesn't help much

How much better could it get with the manual? Just a couple more thousand miles for the next photo but already seeing a big improvement.

Re: Post your 5000 mile or more average mph/mpg
first 5k in the 'Lingo, picked up 5th jan...
day off today so a few little jobs to do...oil level, screen wash etc.
always had a slight occasional limp mode moment when in traffic, found loose inlet pipe, battery out and put pipes back in, seems better now but time will tell?
presumably drawing hot air from engine bay rather than Front inlet?

Re: Post your 5000 mile or more average mph/mpg
Getting close to another 5k - removed the tuning box as starts were getting jittery with the extra torque and have decided to keep this C5 for a bit longer. Still avg +50 mpg but not patient enough to maintain the +55mpg average I usually get for the first 1-2k

Re: Post your 5000 mile or more average mph/mpg
Mine has increased - 38.6 over the past year. Increase is cumulative and may be due to the Torq diesel I have been using. That is over 9842 miles
Best was 47.8 mpg going to St. Leonards a couple of weeks ago - 740 miles.

Re: Post your 5000 mile or more average mph/mpg
Forgot to add that some motorway driving earlier this year saw mid 50s out of my 1.9TD Xantia...better than the mid 30s I usually see...but then again Milton Keynes is about the worst place in the world for fuel economy with a network of 70mph dual carriageway roads with roundabouts every half a mile!
