Leg room ??/ , ohhhhhh (titter titter) yes, lots of space in the back, (nudge nudge wink wink)

My Cambridge was a great student car for many things. We could fill it up with camping gear (massive boot), booze, even two people once :)
5 sitting up and 2 down in the foot wells was not uncommon :)

Lets get off to a good start with a couple of Renault 17 adverts. I like the language used in older car adverts. People in the 1960's must have craved "adequate legroom" and could only dream of "satisfactory legroom". These Renault adverts a decade on still try to sell the benefits of features which seem pretty mundane now like a trip odometer and an electric rear window defogger and an electric clock. Even steel braced radial tyres get a mention. :)

17's proving a bit too difficult?

how about this loosely translated as an "eagle triumph" from a German firm that also built typewriters, motorcycles and bicycles

Its a 1934 Adler Triumph 1.7 Litre Karman

PS

For the typewriter enthusiast Canberra is the place to go (virtually anyway) to the Australian Typewriter Museum

here's an Adler

I like a random connection. Here's another

A fascinating handy hint from the Australian Typewriter museum, Canberra (The world of typewriters 1714 to 2014)

and I think I'll post up a vintage Christmas typewriter advert, from the "museum" on the Bah Humbug thread :)

Lovely :-D Note the numberplate on the car in the advert. Very subliminal..

The numberplate of the second car reminds me of an Activa... Nothing else about it does though..

From an earlier post I love the use of a typewriter to check wheel run-out. Very clever...

Thts a nice start for the 19's Sticky, here's another to make a nice pair :) Looks like it was powered by a "Coventry Climax" which has been mentioned in despatches on another thread probably by Jim.

For those of you interested, particularly in Coventry, this may be an interesting read

With a title like that you wonder if they had a problem deciding which section of the bookshop to put that....
