C5 Electric Seat Retro-fitting.
I am picking up a 2005 C5 2.0HDI VTR on Wednesday, I would like to retro-fit a Leather interior with Electric seats, can anyone give me a definitive answer as to weather or not my C5 will have the Wiring for the Electric seats already installed under the carpets somewhere? the seller cannot really tell me but I have a leather interior in mind but its from a 2002 C5 and the front seats are Electric, did Citroen ever do a Leather Interior for C5 without Electric Seats?

I am interested in doing this myself, someone has already I believe succesfully fitted them, if you look back a few weeks you should find them.

I called my local Citroen dealership and they say that 99% the wiring will not be there, thats why I came onto the forum, think I may have to wait until i can look for myself?Peter.N. wrote:I am interested in doing this myself, someone has already I believe succesfully fitted them, if you look back a few weeks you should find them.

I fitted my leather interior in about an hour with no problems. I have a 2003 lx estate and the wiring loom was tucked under the carpet, the only thing I had to do was fit an 80 amp maxi fuse.

Re: C5 Electric Seat Retro-fitting.
I have installed the leather electric in mine and found the wiring to be present under the seat.
I have heard a few other people have done so and in order to provide power to the wiring loom that is present, all that was needed was a maxi fuse to be inserted under the bonnet. The space for this fuse is rather hidden from view.
To access it you need to unscrew the underbonnet fuse box and if I recall correctly the slot for it is on the vertical front face. (There is another thread on here somewhere that describes this procedure a bit better however I cannot find it at the moment).
However when I installed mine I found that just inserting the fuse did not work, so I had to run a superate (fused) positive feed to the bank of microfuses (through the firewall) behind the passenger glovebox. Incidentally the microfuses for the various electric functions of the seats were aready present. Sam

Re: C5 Electric Seat Retro-fitting.
I have fitted my leather seats into two C5s and they both worked OK with the fitting of the maxi fuse, the heating doesn't work though, I thought they were faulty but could there be another reason? Both mine were SX's don't know if that makes any difference.

You should find all the wiring needed under the carpets.
I fitted leather to mine a couple of years ago and it was just plug & play after the Maxi fuse was installed. Including the heaters and CD changer.

I've had my seat out and the sill trim off and the only wiring going under the carpet from the loom is for the airbag. I'm wondering because it's a facelift and a design model if the wiring isn't supplied? Wish it was there though it would be so much easier as all I'd need to do is put the maxi fuse in and 4 30amp fuses in the fuse holder inside the glovebox

Re: C5 Electric Seat Retro-fitting.
I have a 2007 vtr and thinking about leather. There is extra plugs under the standard seats which I presume is for the electrics for the seats. However mine has the lane changing warnung in the seats which vibrate your bum so dont know if I would have to get leather which had this fitted or if it would need disabled with a lexia.

I wonder why yours has the extra wiring then but yet my 2006 model doesn't?

Re: C5 Electric Seat Retro-fitting.
I fitted Mk1 seats into a Mk1 Facelift 55 plate, I swapped the Airbags between seats to avoid changing the plugs on those wires, Power feeds to the motors etc were standard between both........ easy fitting.

Re: C5 Electric Seat Retro-fitting.
Thanks a million..
Ok so I've swapped the airbags now just need to provide a feed for the seat electrics.. The wiring diagrams you have linked to from what I can tell are for the parking sensors? Do you have any for the seat wiring?
