Great H-van pics.

As for the £4 pint, it's not too outrageous I'm led to believe. I don't often buy anything alcoholic and rarely drink (oddly, I've been somewhat the worse for wear three times in the last six weeks but before that not a drop had touched my lips since 1st July last year, and before that was the 3rd Sept the previous year!) One of of those three occasions recently, I went in a pub in Reading and grumbled to a friend who'd come from London that 3 pints cost me £9.80. He thought it was really cheap...

So what's different about this very nice H-Van Catering Van Conversion?

I am sure Mercedes used to do a similar thing to their cars

There's one in the Departures at Gatwick North - a Jamie Oliver affair: Jamie's Van

No camera, so I didn't get a better pic of it....

Richard's Citroen H Van spot......................

Image

Oh dear! It looks a bit out of place and needs liberating to me :) I do hope its putting down a decent patch of oil as a protest at being locked up in such a sanitised anonymous space

Not sure if they would allow a "goer" in there (1 point deduction), and the association with Jamie Oliver (now this could be up to full 50 point deduction depending on personal opinion), and the lack of primary photographic evidence, or a sworn affidavit from another forum member of substantial standing, has me reaching for the points deduction button...............................

Welcome back to the I-spy Citroen Vans thread Richard, but I think Big Chief I-Spy would probably say close but no cigar this time! :)

Gull wing Poser

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Linking with the Gull wing Citroen H above

10 points for the first to identify this gull wing example below...maybe a bit tricky because only 2854 were ever built between 1974 and 1976, but its not a Mercedes and its not a De Lorean and there aren't many other Gull Wings apart from those!

Gull wing Poser

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Well deserved 10 points Steve

Some interesting "wiki facts"

Not exactly from a hotbed of car manufacturing-New Brunswick Canada, and the project of Millionaire Malcolm Bricklin.

SV-1 stood for "Safety Vehicle 1"

The car didn't have an ashtray or a cigarette lighter

The gull wing doors were "powered" and opened at the touch of a button

It came in 5 colours white, red, green, orange and suntan

There is an orange one at the Haynes International Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset

I have another H Wagon to add, but I am doubtful as to whether it is capable of moving itself;

EDIT; Pictures should now work.

Any story behind the pics James? Looks like there are beer kegs lurking in the background. I wonder what is the most profitable commodity to sell from a Citroen H-Van, and am rapidly coming to the conclusion that its cold beer on a hot day :) in a nice location....a Pop-up mobile Pub!

Try to guess where the last two H Wagons I posted are. They are in the same area, and won't be there after Sunday.
