My goodness, this thread is bringing up some wonderful stuff..

First Time I've heard Hall of the Mountain Womble and I'm surprised as I was a massive Wombles fan back when I was just a young lad..

I love Grieg's version too :P

On Saturday afternoon, I could have racked up another 50 points taking me to 250, if only we had walked over the Millennium Bridge to the Cbeebies live event on the Gateshead side. Pizzette was in residence with its wood fired oven, and nice 3-tone paint job!

Image

Looks like the NE is not quite exhausted yet. There's definitely 50 points waiting and the place seems to be The Boiler Shop at The Robert Stephenson Quarter behind the Central Station

Boilershop Steamer, 6 & 7 June 2014

Books for brushing up your French

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

There are a series of books (in French) which are titled "Le/la Citroen ........de mon pere"

The Citroen H van is a "Le"

Image

Virtually all French vehicles of a certain age are covered, (no Xantia or XM edition that I could find)

Newcastle Falcon 250 points

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Its nice to report an actual Citroen H spot, with photographic evidence.

This is Pizzette making an appearance at the Boiler House Steamer today. You can see the smoke coming out of the chimney of the wood burning pizza oven.

I can't quite work out why street-food (and there was plenty variety including Lulu Cooks Chinese! Steamed Dumplings) and beer/wine etc at these events is always seems pitched at too high a price, to go round and have a little bit of all the interesting things! My litte sample size alcoholic Pina Colada Ice Lolly was £2 although I did enjoy it!. . Beer at £2 a half and £4 a pint is also a bit OTT for me, although I would admit that I am probably well out of touch.

Image

It was packed out and it certainly had a buzz about it, with plenty people enjoying their £4 pints, and I would have to say quite a young and trendy crowd apart from us of course :)

Classic Citroen Link

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Found this link to all sorts of old manuals, parts lists etc

Wonder if IKEA could use them to come up with the Flat Pack Citroen H-Van.

I'm sure they could Neil. I wonder what quaint and bizarre name they'd give it?

Well I think I have just claimed the 1000th view of I-Spy Citroen H Vans! I was wanting to see if our trip to Manchester today could divert via Bradford to do a bit of H-Van spotting! at 2CV City.

Cant think of A decent IKEA name yet for a flat pack van, but just like the video of the engine rebuild to Hall of the Mountain King there are bound to be bits left over!

Still, at least with an IKEA H-Van you'll know you'll only need a couple of Allen keys and possibly a hammer to build it

IKEA Citroen H Van Flat Pack

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Jim

I am sure if the clever people at IKEA put their minds to it the flat pack car/van could be doneI , and the simplicity and the boxy rather than curvy styling of the HVan would be a perfect prototype. Maybe a decent welder or rivet tool would be included instead of the s shaped allen key :!: and of course the engine could assemble itself as so......

already referred to on page 6 of the thread

how about a working name for it being

pengargrop (Swedish two words-pengar grop)

The thing about 'The Wondering Wine Company' is that everybody is wondering is should it be 'The Wandering Wine Company', as they keep turning up in different places!

You'd have to stop quite often to retighten all the allen bolts though.
