The CCC X Rally - 7th April 2013.

Post by Citroening »

Image

Following on from last years inaugural X Rally that was a brilliant success, we will of course be holding it again next year. The date, as you can see on the above information poster, is the 7th April 2013 and this once again combines with Burghley's Fine Food Market that is a well represented event that they hold each year.

If you attended last year you will know that we got a brilliant turnout of 80+ Citroens which for a first was excellent. However next year I am sure we can do even better, and in particular I for one would like to see some more Modern Cs at events - all are welcome however I'd like to push for more modern's...

If you're not familiar with Burghley please see their website as it is a very interesting place in it's own right.

As it is early days I will keep this thread updated when further details come to light.

Thanks!
Franklin

That was Sylv's, Rhothgar's nearest and dearest, a green one...

Now I have the usual dilemma. XM or Activa?

Just as a gentle whinge---why do events always seem to be held in the eastern side of England?. Only place near here is Shepton Mallet. And my neck and wrists wouldn't make it that far on a sports bike. Will have to get my cruiser going soon. :-D

Well the problem with organising shows and events Gregg is to try to get a good location for the event but also be in reach for as many people as possible. Technically this is an East Midlands Group event of the CCC, because we came up with the idea of proposing another rally earlier in the year as people felt there was too long a wait for the CX, XM and Xantia Rally that is held in September - joint venture of the CX Section and East Midlands group. Helps that both have a very similar committee...

People do travel to these events though, as last year there were a few from Wales. For the CX, XM and Xantia Rally held in Buckinghamshire people even travel from Ireland and Scotland for the weekend! Dedication! :-D

There are events dotted around the UK, for example the Northern Rally that Steve/Trainman is one of the organisers of. Kev/Red_Dwarfers also does the South West area of events too.

I had that problem when I had the XM too! XM, Activa or C5. Great excuse for being late to anything though  I still have the bother now!

I do 500 miles plus in a weekend when attending most ccc events, it's well worth the trek.

Greg, I do appreciate what you say and this year particularly, they do seem to be clustered in one region to a greater or lesser extent...

However, as you say Chris, the journey is woth it to attend any of them...

I feel particularly lucky where I live that all except the Northern one are relatively close. Just the job as at the moment my ability to drive any great distance is severely limited...

I'm hoping it'll improve in the not too distant. I'm working on it...
