The cheap Laguna saga continues!. Fitted the gearbox, and as i was fitting a replacement steering column my mate who was helping said my bottom balljoints were knackered [:(]. Had a look and right enough they are fubared, not worn but it looks like someone had been working on it, and cut the top half inch off the thread [:0], i'm presuming that the joint started turning and they've hacksawed the nut off!. Anyway, i thought i was going to have to buy lower arms (more expense!!!) but looking on GSF they have balljoints available at around £9 each. Whats invloved in fitting these as i always thought that the joints would be pressed in or something?.

Dont' know about Renault but older Citroen's have 3 Torx head bolts / nyloc nuts holding the ball joints on. The GSF replacements I got had new bolts in the box. Took about 20 mins to clean old one, remove and replace. No problems. Very similar to older Autin vehicles from the 70's.
If the joint is kn**ker any way you'll have no new wories about breaking anything.

Asked on the Renault Sports Club forum, and i was told that they bolt in...i'm presuming you knock the metal dustcap off the bottom and they fit in from the top and bolt from underneath. For sure they don't sit on a metal plate thats bolted to the arm, i discovered that much last night before i got pee'd off with it all and went to drown my sorrows...
