That really is an excellent history to have the knowldge of :-D Wow, it has obviously been a very well loved car and owned by enthusiasts.

Very good news on the undertray, not many about for XMs now. However I have always been advised to remove them from XMs, they trap moisture and help greatly in the rotting out of the front subframe area, apparently.

It's up to you Vince, but I'm coming up to Rossendale next weekend (29th) and could make a short detour and drop it off it you like.

That's a very heartening story Vince. Nice to see the XM is being kept 'in the family' as it were, by someone who appreciates it's virtues.

Well, yesterday evening i dropped Linda off at the palace theatre in Manchester...naturally it was dark and the front of the theatre well lit. Linda was meeting her friend Samantha who is as far from a car person as someone could be....Linda told me today that her reaction to the big shark like xm was "wow is that your new car?......it looks amazing, and i dont normally even notice cars"

Naturally daddy was very proud of his toy.....I love the reactions these early xm's provoke :) I drive through the city centre whenever i can and catch the odd "whats that"? look on people's faces
