Turbo cutting out under full load

Hi The turbo on my 2003 Scenic DCi 1870cc (Last of the old shape) is playing up I think its just a sensor but I am not sure which one so any help appreciated.

When I pull away the turbo is working fine but as the revs build up when I am giving it full throtle suddenly it's like the turbo shuts down and the engine reverts to a non turbo diesel.

All I have to do is to stop turn off and remove the key for a few seconds then restart and all is well until it happens again!!, which is why I suspect a sensor or something.
Can anybody help.

are you getting an engine management light coming on? it sounds very much like it is overboosting and the ecu is reverting to limp mode.

Hi Thanks for trying to help, but no engine management light.The engine management lights comes on and goes out as it should at start up.
