Hi from Australia,
Just wondering if there were any real Renault Espace fans out there? There seems to be loads of them in the UK but Renault Australia dont import them here to Australia. I personally love them and would love to get some fan sites and some cool pics including interior shots please? Can anyone help?

Hey Daniel,
Yep, I'm an Espace fan! What shape are you most interested in?
I had this Mark 3 Grand Espace V6 RXE. A great car in many ways, and a cr*p one in a few as well

I'd really love the newer shape 3.5 V6 Petrol, but very hard to find here. I recently bought an Avantime, which is a kind of Espace Coupé thing. A lot of the interior and underpinnings are just Mark 3 Espace.

Hi there wow great pictures there. yes the new Espace loosk amazing doesnt it. You said you have an Avantime that is another great Renault that was badly under rated at the time.
Can you email me some pictures of it please? Id love some nice wallpapers for my pc at work. Whats your car like? Is it automatic? Is it the AL4 transmission?

Can I have first refusal on that if/when it come stime to sell? Really want an Avantime at some stage. I'd have one now if I had moneyR9UKE wrote:

I'd count myself as an Espace fan too. The missus really lieks one and wants to change the Grand Scenic for an Espace for the next car.

Dunno about you guys, but I didn't aspire to an Espace.danielsydney wrote:Just wondering if there were any real Renault Espace fans out there? ...I personally love them and would love to get some fan sites and some cool pics including interior shots please? Can anyone help?

Having four kids under the age of five, my transport choices are fairly limited now that the cops don't allow you to just throw half a dozen of them in the back of a car any more

Mine is a 2.2dci - great when it works, but it's full of random niggly faults.
I think every day was a Monday on the Matra production line. I've thought about setting fire to it more than once.

This is a Danish forum with plenty of Espace info: http://www.matrasport.dk/forum/index.php/board,7.0.html
I'll take some photos for you if it ever stops raining.

Yeah, thats the other killer. Filling the thing. Costs €110 a time. The fuel economy is abysmal. Like most people carriers, it's only really used for round town driving - dropping kids to school/nursery etc. so I expected fuel economy to be crap, but not as crap as it is. Even on long journeys I'm only looking at 450-500 miles from that big 80-something litre tank.
I don't know what I was thinking - I should have got the 2.0 petrol.
It's a sad day when an Activa is the most economical car in your driveway
I think a C8/Ulysse/807 is on the cards.

Wow that's appalling, and apparently Renault are well aware of how cr*p this engine is but choose to do nothing about it. Even the 3.0 V6 Petrol wouldn't return much less!
I've always thought the Peugeot 807 was a really smart looking MPV. My aunty has always had C8s and loves them, especially the electric sliding doors. They seem to suffer more electrical niggles than the Espace though!
At least you have an excuse to drive the Activa plenty!

Well the electric sliding doors can be a headache if they decide to misbehave. They tend to think there's something in the way and "bounce back" refusing to shut. A load of other random little electrical gremlins... anti-pollution systems etc. Do an owners review search and you should find out what you need to.
Then again, most of the cars I buy and love have horrific reputations so I wouldn't let this put you off!
This looks beautiful, I'd almost have children just to have an excuse to buy it
