As a cheap economy measure, it is possible to clean the filter by giving it a blast of compressed air in the reverse direction, giving it a dunking in a detergent solution for a couple of hours and then drying it by compressed air. It works two or three times before it gets a bit ragged.

It also helps to clear out all the muck and crud in the scuttle, as this is where the air is drawn from.

As with most things, the pattern ones are never as good as the OE item, but I did find Citroen boxed items in a hypermarche en France, and they were cheaper than I was paying for pattern items. Needless to say, I bought the lot.

As I mentioned, either see Jason or go to EAI's Sydney orifice in Thornleigh and buy one off Martin. He may well have either Purflux or Valeo there, in addition to Wesfil.

Retail price seems to be around $35 from memory.

tar, actually I remembered that on the last service on the VSX, the filter was replaced, so I swapped them over, (after cleaning the V6 one).

The main reason I have kept the VSX is for swapping parts over, alot of the VSX is like new. I have spent alot of time caring for it.

How big of a job is it to swap over the whole floor carpet do you think?

I thought they caught what's-her-names stalker!

It's a fair job. Front seats out, centre console out, rear seat bases out, handbrake cable disconnected...

The the two front carpets and the single rear one can be lifted out...
