Hi
I have a 2003 1.9 Dci Laguna II hatch and am averaging 41 MPG, in my previous car, a Passat doing the same mileage and driving style I was getting 50 MPG. I have had the car checked by the garage but they say nothing is wrong but I am not so sure as I believe they should at least be equal.
Has anyone else with a Laguna II attained a better fuel consumption?

Modern common rail diesels need a strange way of driving; full throttle isn't the quickest way of getting around (i'm citing the Ford TDCi diesel here, as i haven't tried the Renault DCi lump). Chances are that with a slightly lighter right foot, you'll find it quicker and better on fuel. If it's new, then chances are that it isn't run in yet, which normally gives rise to higher fuel consumption.
I know what you mean about VW diesels; doesn't matter how hard you drive them, they struggle to get below high 40's (Previous car was Bora TDi PD - NEVER dropped below 48mpg and it got caned everywhere)
