Renault Wind hardtop roadster debuts in Geneva

Renault debuted a small roadster it calls the Wind at the Geneva Motor Show. The hardtop convertible shares many components with Renault's city car Twingo, but it's wrapped in a distinctive body.

The first and last comparison the Wind will ever get to a Ferrari is the innovative roof. Just like the ultra-rare 575 Superamerica, the Wind's glass top hinges on the b-pillar to roll over and lay flat in the trunk area.

Although the name may suggest some form of alternative power, the Wind will get conventional combustion motors. The standard engine will be the 1.2-liter four-cylinder from the Twingo GT rated at 100 hp. Also available will be the 1.6-liter unit from the Twingo RS. This un-turboed powerplant puts out an impressive 133 hp (that’s in between a Mini Cooper and Cooper S.)...
