Which french car would you love to nut and bolt restore?

Unread post by vince »

I was dreaming earlier today of which french car if time and money were no object would you nut and bolt restore and then drive? I mean, total strip down and rebuild to better than new condition? New paint, engine out, complete job.

For me it would have to be as follows:
Series 1 Xantia V6 in black / Dark Blue
Citroen XM V6 in silver
Citroen SM (Of course)
DS Pallas - Black with Tabac leather
Peugeot 504 (not sure which engine)
Series 1 Renault 5 TL - perhaps in Orange (dont ask me why, i always liked em... :P )

If you cant do it for real then a dream will have to do :)
1993 Citroen xm 2.1td, silver/grey, bowling ball wheel trims, 210k and climbing...

Which French model? I would love to completely strip down Emmanuelle Béart, and then get to work.

But if we are talking cars - a first front (French built) D Safari with full options.

Citroen XM 24v S1
Citroen DS 23 (or 21) EFI (I just happen to be reading "Complete Resto Guide to .... at the moment)
Citroen CX DTR T2
Renault 25 V6 Turbo

I dint think a good xantia would need a nut and bolt resto just yet..

Bloody hell KP .....How many lifetimes do ya have?

One of the best 110 conversions was actually a standard issue by Landrover Australia. Izuzu 4BD1. It is a 3.9 4 pot with Direct Injection. It even pre dates Landrovers own 200tdi Gemini engine. Bolt on turbos were available too.

The only vehicle I seen it on here are commercial type buses and trucks
