1.9dci Oil grade
What oil grade should be used for a Megane 1.9dci (2004)?

I believe Renault only recommend fully synthetic 5w40 now as opposed to the 10w40 semi that used to be used on this engine.
The service interval on this engine is 18,000 miles
& I think the oil specification change was more than likely to accommodate this.
Personally I wouldn't let an engine go 18,000 miles between oil changes no matter what it was running on.
...I run my 1.9 DCi on semi synthetic & change the oil & filter every 6- 8k
