Hi
Yet another question from a new activa owner!
Could anyone tell me where the relays are located for the cooling fans on my 99 activa?
I understand that there are 3?
Thanks
Jon

I think I have some relays and I might have a cover, although they'll be the last of your concerns if the cover has been left off. Oh what a lovely job rewiring in the relay socketsActivamadness wrote:I have looked, and they look in a pretty sorry state, the cover is missing too
Does anyone know the part numbers of them, as I cant find them on euro car parts or gsf s site?
Or where to buy them?
Many thanks
Jon

The relays are a garden variety item, available anywhere.
If you get the 5-pin ones, they can be swapped all around.
GSF parts as listed:
N93580-RELAY-4 PIN GREEN CARTIER-25 AMP-7.25
N93585-RELAY-5 PIN BLACK CARTIER-25 AMP-7.25
To get you home on Friday, bridging as shown will lock in the slow speed, providing that you only have faulty relays, rather than rotted wires.
Top right relay, bridge the opposing non-parallel pins with a thick wire.
Bottom relay, bridge the centre pin to the outer middle parallel pin.
If it works like that, the top left relay must be taken out to prevent the high speed from interfering.
If it doesn’t work, check that the top right relay has 12 Volts on pin 30, and also on either 85 or 86, even with the key out.

The bumper doesn’t necessarily have to come off, but it may still be the long, easiest way to do it.
Check that both fans easily turn by hand, then tap the motors to ‘reseat’ the brushes.
You can test both fans by shorting relay pins 30 to 87 on all 3 relay sockets at the same time, even with the key out.
They can also be tested by feeding them 12 Volts at their plugs.
If you fancy some map reading, here’s a very good one, from the Peugeot 306, but the top relays are the other way around on the Xantia:
