As above I am having problems trying to locate a dipstick or anything under the bonnet where I can check the gearbox oil level on my Safrane 2.2 Vi. The car has been stood for a few months prior to me buying it so I would like to make sure all levels are correct before doing any serious journeys in it. I have only just bought the car and have not owned a Renault before so it is all new to me. Have checked the owners handbook and it just says to consult a Renault dealer.
If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance

You may find its like the old R21. You need to plug the gearbox into the computer at the main dealer. Apparantly, they open plugs on the box, then activate solenoids to see if any fluid comes out, and they then measure how much comes out to decide if it needs filling up! Sounds a little complicated to me.....
