Re: The Hydrogen Thread
Fife has had a small scale Hydrogen Plant since 2011. For Levenmouth in the SGN video read Methil. Prince Philip once described Lower Methil as the pimple on the A***end of Nowhere after being in the port during WW2.

Interesting this looks like the fleet of Kangoo's from 2016. Well it would have been if they hadn't been so precious with their images!Dormouse wrote: 25 May 2021, 20:28 Fife has had a small scale Hydrogen Plant since 2011. https://www.brightgreenhydrogen.org.uk

Re: The Hydrogen Thread
May well have caught a view through the binoculars, across the other side of the firth of Forth over to the Hydrogen Project today. Might be just off screen to the right but definitely a single wind turbine close to shore.Dormouse wrote: 25 May 2021, 20:28 Fife has had a small scale Hydrogen Plant since 2011. The two hills shown in this shot were always referred to affectionately as the "Paps o' Fife" by my uncles. We were from Prestonpans but our relatives and forebears were renowned for "moonlight flits" from mine to mine, county to county.

The two Grey Blobs in the background on the coastline are in Kirkcaldy. Methil is about 8 miles east ( to the right)NewcastleFalcon wrote: 26 May 2021, 21:35May well have caught a view through the binoculars, across the other side of the firth of Forth over to the Hydrogen Project today. Re: The Hydrogen Thread
Thanks Dormouse. Looking over from North Berwick you could see part of Fife being clear and some in the middle of heavy rain cloud. Withing Half an hour or so it was across the Forth and tipping it down in North Berwick...you could watch it coming

19 miles as the crow flies from Canty Bay to Kircaldy, 12 Miles straight across to Anstruther from the Drift Cafe perched above Canty Bay. Stayed a couple of times at Kilconquhar exploring the Fife Coast.

Re: The Hydrogen Thread
In this map is Leven and Buckhaven. Methil is the bit inbetween. If you look below "leven" you will see Methil Docks (unmarked but obvious). The Hydrogen Office is to the righthand end of the docks and the ex BiFab Rig Yard is to the left of the docks. I will put pictures up later. Spoiler - the Hydrogen Refuelling station has been removed! I will include a fair few photos so they might come in batches.NewcastleFalcon wrote: 27 May 2021, 01:18 19 miles as the crow flies from Canty Bay to Kircaldy, 12 Miles straight across to Anstruther from the Drift Cafe perched above Canty Bay. Re: The Hydrogen Thread
They have a surplus of power on the Orkneys and believe they use that to generate hydrogen. I know that they export power to the mainland.

Re: The Hydrogen Thread
Took my 3008 Hybrid4 for a test run down past Methil Docks and The Hydrogen Office.
The nicest shot I think is this one. 10 years before the V & A in Dundee.
This fuzzy shot says it all.
What is missing is all the Hydrogen Refuelling rigs. Gone!
However, This is still here and I have never seen it be used.
There is even a small array of solar panels on site.
And, yes, That is a microlight in the sky. Right on cue or what?-

Re: The Hydrogen Thread
The single Wind Turbine you saw is actually land based in the Rig Fabrication Yard in Methil Docks. Here is a pic of "Lollypop" and her big brother in the background. If Lollypop was standing under Big Brother she could just about hold wing tips. Big Brother is HUGE and is visible from over the Forth but Lollypop would need a good pair of binoculars to pick out.NewcastleFalcon wrote: 26 May 2021, 21:35May well have caught a view through the binoculars, across the other side of the firth of Forth over to the Hydrogen Project today. This pic shows Largo Law which, like Berwick Law, is an extinct volcano. Largo Law and the Isle of May are easy to pick out from across the Forth This shows (just) Berwick Law and the Bass Rock.

Don't know if you noticed but a Glenrothes Garage "Electron Garage" also made it to one of the big EV and green tech websites today, maybe you know of it.

Here's the cafe at the top of the cliffs bass rock in the background. About 9 Miles off the A1 but a nice place to stop off at without doubt.

Re: The Hydrogen Thread
Just took the Hybrid4 for a second "constitutional" run and took these pics.
Big Brother is HUGE! When you listen to Lollypop close up it makes a clicking, tinny sound. The Big Brother makes a far more satisfying whooshing sound.
I read the EV article this morning but I didn't know they were there. Will make a point of investigating/ being nosey now.
