Symptoms:
All gears are fine and don't make any excessive noises. The fifth gear however is different, I usually put it in 5th at around 80 km/h (doing around 2200rpm)and the humming (low deep sound but quite soft) starts. It only does it in 5th and stops when I press the gear lever forwards a little bit (5mm max) but then ofcourse have to let go again and it merrily continues...[B)]
I've been driving with it for about a year but use the car alot more these days and want to have it 'perfect' again.
According to one specialist my fifth gear is worn (couldn't tell which part though) and another one thinks it's an internal rod or something.
I want to try and fix it so any ideas are welcome.
Gear oil is new (didn't make a difference) and so is my top engine mount (the rest of them are fine)
The car is still the '95 2.0i 16v with the BE3 box
