I have a 2012 Citroen DS5 originally equipped with an RT6 head unit.
I purchased a 7" capacitive touchscreen and an adapter harness from AliExpress. I also received a NAC Wave4 unit from a colleague, already configured with my VIN.
After installation everything seems to work correctly:
touchscreen works
vehicle information is displayed
Android Auto works
system boots normally
no VIN mismatch beeping
However, I have no sound at all
My car most likely has the basic audio system (without external amplifier). My colleague configured the NAC using Arduino and set audio type to “basic”, but it seems that this configuration may expect an external amplifier, which my DS5 probably does not have. Because of this, I suspect the NAC is not outputting audio correctly.
Additionally, I bought a Diagbox interface from AliExpress (so-called “Gold” version) together with a ready-to-use virtual machine image with Diagbox 9.91.
Diagbox generally works – it detects the interface and connects to the car. However, it only shows basic ECUs such as BSI etc. The radio is detected as not present, and the same applies to the amplifier. Because of this, I was not able to change any audio-related parameters in the NAC Wave4 unit.
Questions:
1. Has anyone successfully installed a NAC Wave4 unit in a DS5 originally equipped with RT6 and basic audio?
2. Is Wave4 compatible with non-amplified audio systems?
3. Do I need to change the audio configuration (for example amplifier type, mux settings, etc.) in Arduino or Diagbox?
4. Why would Diagbox detect BSI and other modules, but not detect the NAC head unit?
5. Is it necessary to first install Wave3 unit and then update to Wave4?
Any advice or confirmed working configuration would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
