Hi all,
Blower heater has been intermittent for roughly a year,
Mostly its ok(sometimes with a little bang on the facial) it kick in,
Sometimes it doesn't I leave it on when driving then at some point it kicks in,
Now the question is it the motor or the resistor that's on it's way out
2010 pug van
As always thanks in advance

Re: Heater intermittent working
Sounds like motor to me... Resistor is typically. working or not.
Not sure of the Peugeot, but with the wife's Corsa, the motor is first in line for the damp/wet air coming from the outside, and this gets into the bearings a hey-presto they start to sieze/bind. Put your blower on full, as in this setting it get full voltage and current.
BUT.. Running a motor that's about to size could start melting wire insulation........
Good luck

Re: Heater intermittent working
Thanks Sloopsod,
Understand your point, but if it is the motor would it last like it has done( correction its be over a year),
Was ok first thing this morning getting the ice of,
Drove about 1hr on low setting, popped in a services and when I started it again nothing, drove about 5miles without it.
Parked up for 3hrs,got back to the van and it fired up as normal,

Re: Heater intermittent working
Just a kind off update, couldn't get proper access to the motor,
But will grin and bare it for now, reason was on my way to work 5.00am Tue horrendous driving conditions and hit a waterplain and spun 360%
Straight into the crash barrier on the hard shoulder,
Obviously some cosmetic damage to the body
and ns shock absorber which took the steering of centre, but still drivable at lower speeds,
Has always thanks for the responses..
