New here and a little confused.
Bought a second hand Peugeot 2008 allure. 2015 plate (registered 2016)
Entertainment system is a SMEG5.4.B.R8
Plug in the usb and it chargers my phone fine. Car however comes up with a media error and the usb box is shaded out. I’ve tried many different leads to get it working.
Any ideas?
I’m at a loss and Peugeot themselves don’t have a clue either

Re: Apple CarPlay
When does the error message pop up? When your phone is charging or when you try and insert a USB stick with audio files?
What is it exactly you are trying to do?

Re: Apple CarPlay
When the phone is plugged in to charge. I’d like to be able to use car play or at least access the music files on my phone
I’ve attached pictures for the problem I’m facing. As you can see the usb option doesn’t illuminate

Re: Apple CarPlay
Ok so this system doesn't support Apple CarPlay Penny.
It will play MP3 music files from a USB Memory stick if you insert that into the USB port. That's why the message is coming up - as it it looking for music files to play.
Try putting some MP3 files on a memory stick and plugging that in - it should play the no problem.
For charging your phone, you may want to use the 12V accessory socket, which will avoid the message.
The system will support Bluetooth audio streaming from a mobile too - if you have music stored on your phone.
The other options are as shown (iPods and MP3 players via USB or AUX input).
