Driver Electric seat DS7

Post by DS7-Ciaran »

Hi there, does anyone know how to stop the drivers seat from moving back after stopping and whilst exiting the vehicle?

On my C5 it is configured under the 'Welcome Function' section of the vehicle configuration options screen - on the DS7 there only appears to be settings to change the 'Welcome Lighting' system under the Headlamps configuration. I suspect you will have to ask the dealer to deactivate it using Diagbox, as there doesn't appear to be a manual way to disable it - probably to allow ease of access in an emergency, so they may have removed the option from the customer!

I don’t know why but I actually find it the most annoying function! 😂

It can catch you out - especially if you are stopped, the seat has retreated, and you are tucking into a Big Mac and have a large Americano steaming away... when you decide to switch the radio on - but your economy mode has kicked in, so you switch the ignition on and the car starts moving the seat forward .... French Fries have slipped down the sides of the seats, now squished into mash as the runners of the electric seats roll over them, special sauce from your burger has dripped in between your legs, limp lettuce on the carpet and your coffee is now dripping off your steering wheel onto your strides.

Suffice it to say, I turned mine off :mecker:

Me too. Apart from anything else it's a large current draw without the battery being under charge. This will only accelerate the degradation of said battery and removal of money from your wallet earlier than needs be.
