Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
I´ve had JWS 3309 on my Euro5 car now for 5 years and over 100000km, no problems. Trying to get oil changed before spring though.

Marko, with respect, that may be the case, but it is NOT what is officially stated and we want to provide as much Factual information to members as we can and this does not help.
PSA specifically state:
PSA specifically state:
CAUTION: The oil type "AW-1" in AT6 and AM6 gearboxes with engine version Euro 5 is specific and cannot be replaced with oil type ""JWS 3309"".

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
Yup. Because of Euro 5, not because it wouldn´t work just fine. Maybe fuel consumption is a bit higher with thicker JWS3309, but in the other hand that oil lubricates transimission better.

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
Hi everyone, this topic on this forum is probably the most informative about the difference between JWS 3324 and JWS3309, sincere thanks to all the contributors!
Marc, could you please confirm via my VIN which would be the correct oil spec for my gearbox according to Citroen specification(JWS 3324 or 3309)? I guess my car has an Euro 5 compilant Gearbox AM6-2 since it is classified Euro5 and was produced in 2014.

Hi Mikalai.
Ok, so you have a Euro 5 vehicle, therefore you need to use the JWS 3324 oil (or equivalent PSA specification) for the Euro 5 variants of the AM6 gearbox.

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
Hello
Please if could someome check tipe of oil to be fitted in my gearbox. It is c8 2010 euro5, but i am not sure is it 3309 or 3324. Filling plug on gearbox is painted rose color and written "aw1". I am little confused because gearboxes from 2011 are fitted with 3342 oil and my car is 2010. Previous oil was red color. I have flushed gesrbox with Liqui Moly ath 1800. Color of that oil is brownish.
To cut the story short my vin is

You require JWS 3324, as your vehicle is a Euro 5 standard.

Hi! Would you please help me to identify which standard does my car meet, Euro 4 or Euro 5, and, consequently, which of these oils should I use?

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer! This forum is of great help for car owners. I'd spend about 4 hours trying to get any idea what oil to use before I found it, and felt totally confused.
You're the best!
