Well i did say it was too good a car to break for parts :rofl2:

It passed due to your hard work and patience Mike and i am really pleased she has no advisories =D> =D> =D> =D>

Have you replaced the windscreen or did he miss it :wink:

I have never changed the windscreen, seems some testers view things differently lol

Well just seen the MOT report now that is what i would class as a very observant tester
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Items removed from drivers view prior to test air freshener ()

Well Mike what is your MPG assuming the old girl has not let you down, cannot keep the betting open for much longer :)

No, the car's still functioning without complaint, Colin, thanks for asking.
The brakes need looking at still, they're not as progressive as I'd like. Gentle action on the brake pedal does very little at low speed until the pedal reaches a point when it almost locks up and tries to plant my face on the 'screen.

As for the economy, I can't seem to better 53mpg average.
Best I've seen is 61mpg for a few hundred miles but shop & hospital visits in congested traffic sees it drop significantly.

I think the estate's economy was best in it's just-off-idle torque which the X7 doesn't seem to have. ie, around an uphill s-bend i often traverse, I could leave the estate in 4th gear at 30mph and it would pull it up and round ok. Do it in the X7 and it will labour, lose speed and start to chug forcing a downshift. (Assuming the gear ratios are the same for both cars?)
I can't pull away at idle like the estate does either, or if I did and suddenly needed to floor it there is an embarassing or worrying delay before it gets a move on.

I've also noticed when driving hard, mpg would show low-mid 20's in the estate whereas it drops to mid-high teens in the X7.
So I've started a second bottle of Miller's fuel treatment as the first bottle showed an improvement with the cold-starts.

All this makes me wonder if the turbo actuator length needs adjusting properly as per that video. The mechanic who fitted it told me the best he could do was set it to the same length as the old one.

53 mpg is pretty good as an average Mike :)
