c5 x7 heater controls

Post by renagade »

Now then,I am unsure when my heater is in manual should the little lights on the directional buttons for the air flow be on or of. When the air con is on in auto mode the little lights are off. If I turn the auto off the little lights go out. You will tell me next to look in the hand book but that tells me or I am not getting it what lights show and what lights don't show. ???

On ours you can have auto mode off and none of the direction arrows lit up, I have not checked where the air goes in that situation, maybe it has automatic distribution with manual fan control, or maybe it just goes to the diffuser in the top of the dash.

You should be able to make the direction indicators come on and control where the air goes.

On the Dual Zone system, when AUTO is pressed (and is lit), the lights on the left and right air distribution directional switches go out and the system maintains the temperature according to the setting selected (the numbers are levels, not degrees). The system will alter the distribution of the airflow depending on the amount of solar heat entering the car from the windscreen (note the round ball on top of the dash by the air difuser).
In Auto mode it controls all these functions automatically:
Airflow
Temperature in the passenger compartment
Air distribution
Air conditioning
Automatic air recirculation (as in when entering reverse gear, or when in traffic where the air quality deteriorates outside the car, or when operating the screen wash).
