Sticky ... you're right as usual. There IS a lack of 'strong' support and a distinct herd mentality here, people who dont use TT 'supporting' its removal in order to stay onside, although i have been contacted with messages of support so feel that i have been pursuing the point as a matter of principle and will make no further posts on the subject. There are more who disagree with removal than just me however. I accept that the withdrawal of TT support is undemocratically 'non-negotiable' and resistance is futile. However, i now have a list of members who thought fit to make personal attacks against me (not allowed, read the forum rules) and those names will be added to my forum blacklist as i'm not interested in reading any input they may choose to make in future posts. That is where a blacklist comes in really useful. There is, to even out the list, one member who i will remove from my blacklist, you know who you are and thanks for moral support [emoji106]. Can i ask that, not to cause any members who dislike my posts, for whatever reason, any future annoyance they do likewise and add MY name to THEIR blacklists. That way all of us will co-exist happily apart in future. As i said, last post on this particular subject from me but no doubt there's still some who will happily ignore social media rule1 about not getting involved in a post and moving on swiftly to the next ... 'trolling' i believe it's called. Like a pack of wolves, some people just cant help themselves and pitch in just for the hell of it. No doubt they'll help round off this discussion with a few choice comments in order to get the last word on the subject. Thanks guys, good discussion [emoji14].

I shall again bow out of this "discussion " since I feel they are only now replying for the reaction/attention...

It should be quiet for a while now. I have just given xantiamaniac a ban for trolling on another topic after being given a warning this morning.

For those that might care, this is only the second ban that I have given in my time as an administrator here, and that other was after a personal insult from an ex-member (with a lifetime ban previously given by another admin) who signed up under an alias.

This time just 30 days.

You need to be even more painful for a lifetime ban.

What's Tapatalk? Yes, I'm a dinosaur - the use of mobiles and tablets to access the internet is an area of technology beyond anything I need. Lucky me? It's bad enough getting moaned at for "on that computer again!", at least I can get up and walk away to do some work!! I try not to be a slave to a gadget.

Best of luck guys - I'm sure there is a workable alternative.

One of the main reasons why I hate facebook - people these days spend their lives on there, absolutely consumed on their phones, instead of actually getting on with real life!

Had lunch in Weatherspoons in Gloucester on Tuesday, looking around on every table there was someone engrossed in tapping away at their phones, the table next to us had four adults all glued to their phones, food going cold and in the end left uneaten.

Yes, we'll soon be having virtual food to go with the virtual people - there won't be any reason to leave the house - just plug into the phone and vegetate.

Hasn't it been quiet here lately... Atmosphere has improved markedly too I note... :)

As per Iain, I won't touch facebook anymore as it's just too much too fake... People putting on a front and pretending they're someone they are not is so common, and I get all the "social networking" I have any need for by way of this forum and occasionally one or two others plus of course actual face-to-face interaction with humans :)

I think one of the reasons this forum hasn't suffered the huge drop in activity, to the point of literally going days without a post, since FB "pages" and "groups" became popular is the fact that HPN Citroens attract a more down-to-earth & friendly following than many others. (a theory borne out many times just in our ownership of the Black Xantia, in folks' willingness to help and honesty to the point of underselling things).

Long may it continue to be the case, says I.

Thanks to some behind the scenes messages between myself and an admin I now seem to have the text on my phone a bit bigger making it easier for me to read. It's not easier for me to use though, when I log on via the browser and when I try to post stuff, espically pics of which I have posted a few the last couple of days it asks me to switch to TT. I hope that stops once TT is disabled on here. I don't like the browser, but thanks to admin vein patient with me at least the forum is useable for me now on the phone. I expect because I am on a lot it will get easier for me to use as time goes on.

That Tapatalk message will likely go when you remove the App (unless you intend to keep it to use with any other Forum you subscribe to). The message should go when the Tapatalk plug in is eventually removed from this forum.

Is there an easy way to post pictures from my phone? I can log in and out easily now without TT and make normal posts, just wondering if I can add pics.
Thank you.
