I would categorise today as a snail's pace on the FCF.

I'm afraid I have to rescue POTD once again.

Very "modern" through lane layout. Usually not seen in garages, usually just dedicated workshops. Very efficient though and a boon for the dedicated "viewer". The pits also don't get full of "nasties" and are clean and long with good exits for the mechanics/testers. I assume it does more than just Class 4 Tests?

That looks just like the Swedish MOT places I was using in the seventies.
Rapid and thorough.

Unlike here, you got an 'invitation' to take your car there, with a time and date on it.
Woe betide anyone who thought that it was just a polite invitation to visit them.

Then if you were lucky a new sticker to attach between the characters and digits on the rear number plate.

Indeed it does, I believe they test all road vehicles although I am not familiar with the classes. They have a website at http://www.redbournmot.com/ to give you all the info!! :-D

Just looked and they do classes 4, 5 and 7. Class 5 includes ambulances and motorhomes. class 7 is commercial vehicles over 3000kg upto 3500kg. Class 4 includes smaller commercials and cars. There are more but that is the gist of it.

Indeed, and for the benefit of others whose curiosity was aroused, like mine, about classes 1-3 and 6 you can find a description of all the classes here!!

Class 4 Tricycles are a pain to get tested - they don't like pits! Neither do narrow tracked cars / quadricyles!

You can get a 4 wheeled trike in class 3 just to compound the situation.

Those long pits remind me of our REME workshop in Egypt it was a disused railway workshop.

One of our lance corporals had a reputation as a bit of a brown nose, walking across the place and chatting over his shoulder to the staff sergeant he went head first into the pit.
:rofl2: seriously nobody laughed.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.
