The random hand of the FCF Archive February Ferret has selected this thread as thread of the day for 6th February 2023. New posts welcomed to mark the occasion
Here's one from me, a strangely appealing looking van across many of it incarnations in this gallery including the camper van and yes more than a passing resemblance to products coming out of UK factories in the 1960's.

How about this one.

Here's a couple of the more unusual ones from George Clarke's collection:

The folding trailer tent is alive and, well, still a tent.

It probably won't come as a shock to anyone but Pint Pot's layout follows many of the design features of the East Neuk Fifer Touring M. It works - simples.
The Fifer M is based on a L2H2 model. Ours is on a L1H1 - hence Pint Pot.

My brother had one of those camping trailers, he parked it tight against the garage doors and blocked it in with his Volvo, thieves moved the Volvo an stole the trailer without even disturbing his two border collies.

Excellent contribution from Dormouse very much worth reproducing here, on one of the FCF Archives February Ferret 2023 randomly selected threads to have a look through or add to...

This attempt at providing a daily use Camper was always doomed but it was hatched out of the trend to try and persuade people that they only needed one vehicle to do everything - shopping, kids to school, weekends away. Plus Barry Stimpson had designed a Pod to clip to the back of a hatchback to provide the same effect.
A modern evolution of this is the Expandable Van
And then there is the Double Decker idea
All well and good but the buyers didn't head these ways in their droves, so East Neuk quietly dropped their attempt at Camper Nirvana and went back to the mainstream bread and butter models that kept a roof over their head.
I know a lot of this should be elsewhere and feel free to copy it over, but the point of this Ferret answer is to show that reading the Ferret Thread leads to all sorts of things and stimulates thought. I am just demonstrating it and encouraging others to both read and reply.

Here's a vehicle which just might suit anyone with the need to stay away from time to time or as a marshalling base for competitions. Big enough to take a couple of bikes and a kettle I should say!!
