I may have picked the wrong thread for this as I feel it just may warrant a promotion, however worth a look at and I'll pop it on the favourite colours thread too!! :-D

Isetta - lovely!

(I'd have to paint the trailer wheel rims cream though!)

...and if ever there was a day to have a little delve and find out more about the BMW Isetta this is it.

by the end of this 15 minutes you may well discover something new, nicely presented as ever by Steph.
Like I can tell immediately that that Isetta posted by Mick was made in the UK, somewhere near Sainsbury's from newly gained knowledge.

No in your face embedding, the onerous click required to view.

I'm sure this will get promoted but it's here because of the current bid. Especially for Ryan to see what they drive like :-D

You can really see it has a 'Triplex' toughened (not laminated) windscreen in that picture... They used to be fun when they shattered... Surprised it's lasted this long

It's an ID so does not have the proper DS Hydraulic preselector-type gearbox. You must have that to get the full DS experience IMHO ;)

It'll have a column-change...

I always like to find out a little bit more about the cars featured on th thread. Robert Knight has quite a collection of excellent images with a bit of extra information and delivers the chapter and verse on that particular car in your pic Alec in his description.
The one at the Auction was a Bond Mini-car Mark G. An "estate" with a twin cylinder Villiers Engine.

My brother had one of the early ones like in the first picture, he was driving along and a pile of bricks fell off a truck in front of him, they went under the car and ripped the engine out.
I went out to rescue him in my ex WD Hillman tilly truck, we picked it up and chucked into the back. :)

Some years ago my mate's lad asked his mum (they are separated) for the Corgi Bond car for his birthday. Imagine his face when he opened his present expecting to find:
What he wanted!
What he wanted!
and to have this topple out:
Spoiler: show
What he got!
What he got!
It turned out well in the end because my mate went straight out and got the Aston so he ended up with a bonus! :-D

Sorry to so quickly bring up another 205 so soon after the last, but given the lovely colour (I think on that basis it's got Jim's name all over it! :) )

That's a lovely looking car but if Jim had to deal with the rust we wouldn't find out how he cured it.....
