Good Friday is far too good for the Eurovision Crap Contest.
So is Luce!

Bronze and Gold in the Pickled Egg Inaugural World Song Contest in 2017 wasn't too shabby though :-D

Not for the very bland music/song/voice but the video editing.

Clever stuff for being 20 years old.

I have said previously that I rarely listen o male performers, mostly female.
I have no explanation for this. The girls look better perhaps.
I am rather fickle and the favourites change places constantly.
OK, Jackie still retains top spot and Mylene Farmer second but this just popped up on a YouTube playlist.

I have no idea who the geezer is but I do like Imelda May and this song.
Have to admit to liking the original too. Although I thought that it was Tom Paxton that originated it - usual confusion.

A lot of ties to old girlfriends.

Random link, Tom Paxtons song is based on "The Leaving of Liverpool" a traditional folk song, and one of the tracks on "The Spinners Live Performance" Cassette tape which was the first I ever had, which came along with this first cassette recorder one Christmas :-D

So for old times sake here's The Minstrel Boy which rolls into the Leaving of Liverpool from that cassette, from a Live performance at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall September 1966.

I have posted her stuff previously - Berit Hagen, otherwise known as The Commander In Chief, a metal guitarist turned classical.
She has been ill for quite a while and out of circulation. In the meantime she appears to have reinvented herself somewhat.

It fascinates me that her mother is her manager, musical director, videographer and singing coach.
The mother was trained by Maria Callas' trainer and has now taught Berit Bel Canto singing.

It is probably her playing guitar. She has a stack of custom made seven string Ibanez models.
I like to think the building in the backgroung is Tjolöholms Slott but wishfull thinking, she is more likely to be in Norway.

Previous Berit:-

They rehearsed this on Zoom - different countries. When they were recording it - in her mother's front room - she turned the metronome up and he could barely keep pace with her.
They transcribed this from violin themselves.

This old favourite cropped up in conversation tonight so I thought it deserved a spot on our jukebox:

I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Had an interesting day yesterday, started something on YouTube and it made a playlist for me that lasted all day, mostly Dea Matrona, who are improving noticeably day by day and will be a significant trio very soon.

Somewhere among the YouTube listings there is a comment; "I have only seen God once. He was watching Neil Young"!

This just popped up:

I went to see her at The Sage, along with my youngest daughter, who idolises Melanie.
It was probably around 2010.
She had her son with her - as here. I had no idea that she had daughters too.

This is what she was like when she was young. Beautiful!
