Someone mentioned recently Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi" in reference to urban overdevelopment.

It struck me that Cat Stevens said it so much better:

So I selected Steely Dan from youtube and just let the selection autoplay on.

Randomly came up with this track from Emerson Lake and Palmer, not that I was a great ELP Album buyer but I do like the track that came up.

Two very very different musical episodes caught my ear today on the wireless

1...in the category best starts to a recording...

2..and the recorded version of Thin Lizzy Dont Believe a Word
but
.....as all devoted Pickled Egg Jukebox fans will know the performance on the Old Grey Whistle Test with Gary Moore of a slowed (at the start of course before everything just explodes) bluesy version of that song is one of my favourites.

There's a Chinese instrument that sounds like a theremin. must see if I can dig it out.
Couldn't possibly pronounce the name of it, even anglicised.

Twelve Girls Band is one mob who use it.

Re the Theremin-like instrument, I was thinking of the Gu Zheng but possibly the Du Xian Quin.
Must dig deeper, there is an excellent example - somewhere.

A bit of Theremin info.
IIRC Jean-Michelle Jarre uses one quite a bit.
