Re: A nice 2-tone
In any colour it was a horrible little car to drive.

Re: A nice 2-tone
I can't agree with that totally - but then I am biased, it was my first car. I have driven worse cars over the years, old and new. The worst car ever was an evil TVR Turbo with an on/off switch of power delivery. Even strapped into our rolling road back then it felt like it just wanted to climb out and break free. On the road it was scary in even damp conditions. Torque steer was vicious and traction could be "fun". It had axle tramp, cooling issues, electrical issues and every disease known to man and was the worst example of a production model I have ever come across. We pitted it against an Aston Martin DB5 in a club night top speed competition. The Aston was slower to get there but it filled the 125mph on our Sun rolling road. The TVR only managed 118 - the speedo said a lot more.

Re: A nice 2-tone
I like these, especially when they are nice and shiny, and not the usual rusty wreck for complete restoration.

Re: A nice 2-tone
Never seen a two tone one, yes they are nice cars about the time of the Morris, Austin and BMC merger. The rear section looks remarkably like the series 2 Oxford.

Re: A nice 2-tone
That is the one car from the 50/60s that I always wanted as a boy but never got the chance to buy one!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: A nice 2-tone
I think both those colours, or at least very similar shades were available in the Wolseley palette of the time but I cannot find another example in that combination in any of the brochure pictures I have found. So my conclusion is a piece of artistic licence on the part of the restorer maintaining original colours but with a new twist!! This is the nearest original combination I could find:

Re: A nice 2-tone
This beauty was at Mathewson's when I was up there in May - with a Cornwall reg. I also had a 15/50 in the '60's and that was dark blue.
