Re: Picture(s) of the day....
POTD Post 9946...
...and just like a run chase in limited over cricket, our FCF photo batters, have reduced the target by the end of April to under 2 posts a day. 54 in 30 days is the rate required to hit the target of 10,000 posts. No need to take it down to the wire of course, it would be nice to reach it with metaphorical overs to spare so if you see a chance take it.
Click those shutters and keep the scoreboard ticking over.
For newcomers pondering joining in I think Nike summed it up nicely....just do it. There is always something to photograph and there is no threshold of interestingness or photographic excellence. Seeing as its a bit dull and damp
and I haven't ventured outside the front door yet here's another from the "Taken this Day" collection on Geograph.
Randomly selected 1985 and the 14th of the 14 images was our old friend Dr Neil Clifton with his trademark photography of the mundane. Another unlikely co-incidence.

Where's the one that accidentally fell?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

A very moist parkrun today...
Most of the course was under water following yesterday's very heavy rain... One of our runners called it 'parkswim'

The FCF has a thread entitled "Pubs Gallery...and the odd hotel". if you were unaware of it, exceedingly easy to join in with. Featured yesterday was the landmark "Cock o'the North" on the "old A1" (A167) just outside of Durham.
Here it is as it was probably sometime in the 1990's
"Pubs Gallery...and the odd hotel"
Of course it has been demolished to be replaced with housing for the well-heeled, and all that remains is a couple of roundabout signs.

As it originally came from my dinner venue list it is only right that we have a POTD of the establishment, I will post a couple more on the Pubs thread!

It did remind me of the Airfix kits I used to have as a kid - I think I did a few old warships that had masts and rigging

How about a couple of Xantias up at 10,000ft / 3000m ASL?
Poor pics as I really wasn't expecting them!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
The first decent day in ages and I've made the most of it by starting a big household spring-clean and getting the garden sorted...
The lawn, currently mostly moss, has had its first cut of the year, the borders have been tidied and I've hung out my first line of washing in 2023
Mainly Lycra from this weekend's activities...
Late perhaps for all activities but my garden is north-facing and it's only now the sun starts to properly reach it... Parts of it are still in deep winter and a bit boggy!
I've also tidied up the front of my house and cleared the driveway of accumulated leaves and moss from the garage roof...
Now to check over the cars... I'm hoping, once my chores are done - and a few biggies remain - that I can get to play with Bluebell this week too...

Photographer Camden Thrasher was shooting a demonstration of US Navy fighter jets when he captured a remarkable close-up photo of a plane creating “shockwave lines” as it approached the speed of sound.
