Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads

I am going to try installing a later version of diagbox in a VM.
I don't think that it is a communications issue, because it can read the ECU, it just doesn't know how to interpret most of the data it reads. It would be nice to know the "name" of this ECU on the manual selection list (I didn't try them all), but I only have the Bosch 10 digit part numbers to work from.

Ok, well I have the following updates if you need any:
7.57-7.58
7.58-7.62
7.62-7.66
7.66-7.74
7.74-7.76

Sometimes downgrading the software has been known to work (but you'll also need to downgrade the firmware too)
Let me know if you need any of these.

Well I tried 7.21 in the beginning and that worked great on the 2009 car ( that has now gone ) but it seems to falter on the 2011 car ( which has the egs6 gearbox ). I update ( with your help ) from 7.21 to 7.57 but again it does not pick up on the gearbox.I have a cd that came with my kit that has all the updates you mention so when I have a spare min. I will update again.

Ok, well just try the 7.57 to 7.58 update first and then see if it will read the EGS. I'm assuming it's a revision C VCI - if so, you can go onto 7.62 which is a good stable version too, but I would stop there.

Hi, just an update, I upgraded to 7.57 and then 7.60 but still the Lexia reads everything but the gearbox. I must have bought a duff version of Lexia.Will have to get Citroen to have a look for me and pay through the nose for the privilege.

Firstly, check inside the unit to see if it's a full chip unit - hopefully you won't have to damage a security tab to get inside. See the photos I posted here https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 10#p509131

Secondly, if it isn't full chip then why not put the money for a dealer reading towards a better unit? You've already installed the software so it really should be "plug & play" with a replacement unit. At the worst you'd have to reinstall the software. You could then sell your first unit with the qualification that it won't work on later cars.

Well have upgraded my Lexia to 7.60 and still, it will not pick up on my gearbox ECU, it does not know I have a egs6 gearbox. It picks up the correct vin. no. I would like to include some photo's of the insides of the Lexia but don't know how to include photo's. Allso it is now asking me to authenticate before it will go any further,it never used to do that.

If it's not a full chip revision C you will find that it probably won't work with anything higher than a very early version of Diagbox or at all. Really hard to tell because of all the clones out there. They are not the same at all.
