A superb ride over to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton yesterday with my bike club...

We averaged 17.4mph for this ride :) Looking good for my 100 mile charity sportive next month... I seem to be finding my cycling legs again :)

Think I will struggle to get to all time 16k km / 10k miles this year, but it's a good target 😁
Progress is being made :-D

Excellent work Richard :) Keep going!

That prompted me to look at mine... And you're not so far off me :) I've done comparatively little cycling this year but a little more running...

My 100 mile ride this Sunday will help the stats a bit :)

I'm all for helping a charity/hospice but you haven't specified one. So in Eurovision style Nil Poi. You would need to reach a target before I hand over my cash though

My views are the same as yours Ryan which is why I am sponsoring Jim at £0.50 per tenth of a mph average over the whole ride, according to his Strava reading, he achieves above 15mph with minimum of £5 and a max of £25 which would need an average of 20mph. Jim stated that he was pleased with his average of 18mph on a previous long ride so I based my pledge around that and the national cycling average speed which is 15mph!!
Sounds complicated I know but the idea is to motivate Jim rather than just chuck cash in the pot!! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

18 mph is going to be a big ask as the route, which has just been modified, is quite hilly... We'll see ;)

Looking forward to it and it looks like we'll have some good weather for it - for a change :)

The 100 mile Willen Hospice Sportive ride today was ace :D Tough in parts and very tough in others! But then that's what Sportives are all about... If they were easy they'd not be much of a challenge or as satisfying or as much faun ;)

It was a gorgeous, hot day too...

I was pleased, given the terrain, to ride at an average of bang-on 16mph over the 100 miles :)

Some of the roads we traversed were in a shocking state, especially in Northamptonshire...

Here's the vital stats from Garmin:

And me looking very happy at the finish!

This was a charity ride to raise money for our local hospice - the only one in Milton Keynes...

If you fancy adding to my sponsorship pot, here's the link...

All gratefully received with huge thanks :)
