I take it your physical exercise, the primary reason for such activity, was arm bending and lugging heavy boxes.

My grand father used to work in the original Fowler's Brewery in Prestonpans ......... in the smiddy that did the horse shoes for the horse drawn dreys they used. That wasn't yesterday. The new Wee Heavy is not a patch on the original.

A tasty brew I'm sure, however our favourite brew, especially when forced to drink it from cans, is Doom Bar! According to their website we are not alone in that judgement: :-D

Belhaven do a Wee Heavy nowadays. Never tried it yet but I feel the need to visit the Mason's Arms (if it is still called that) down from the Belhaven Brewery to try it out. I will report back.

There is an art to a bonfire of branches, leave it alone and it burns a hole in the middle, but the experienced bonfire tenderer with a hoe keeps lobbing into the centre the half burned branches from the edge, so the fire consumes its full meal of the initial pile.

Reminded me of a lyric of an old Groundhogs classic, so on went youtube for a bit of Tony McPhee nostalgia I hadn't heard for ages.

A lousy photo, but a shot of one of my bonfires from many years ago - it might even pre-date Saint Greta's existence so it's OK from an enironmental point of view :-D I think it burned for days
Big bonfire - own work

And yes, what far too many people don't understand - curating a decent bonfire takes experience and skill :-D

In celebration of this question on Mastermind BBC2 tonight from the General Knowledge Round.
The name of which district of South-West London goes before omnibus in a dated phrase once used in legal contexts to refer to a typical reasonable person :?:
and in an unbelievable FCF co-incidence the Hydrogen Thread only a few days ago used the "dated phrase", only the second time it has been referred to in FCF threads, ever.
