Excellent pictures Neil :)

Here's one of Wolsingham Station... This is not the original, that's now a private house so I did not take any of it... Shame it's still not part of the railway as it's a very fine building. The new station building is functional and OK but not as architecturally pleasing as the original..

The platform at Wolsingham is very long.. Big enough for a ten coach train we think...

And what the photographer in the above photo might have been taking...

Very pretty and like the rest of the area, very well kept and clearly well loved...

I like the orange background signage with the white lettering, which I hope to mimic for my very own construction in homage to the box at ALston.

Loving that 'opposite' pictures of us Mick :)

Another signal box we spotted on our trip... Had no choice really as we had to wait for two trains to cross... Not that we minded at all...

Manual gates... And here's the signaller opening them...

Interesting, you have visited in real life this one I posted up as being an example of the NER type S5 signal box which was exactly the type plonked on top of the new brick structure at Alston :-D

What is amazing Neil, is that only now, looking at your Flickr photo did I see the semaphore signals... Despite being sat there for around ten minutes I completely failed to see them!

The real life fake signal box shed, based loosely on the signal box at Alston makes progress. Saw a tin of exterior primer/undercoat lying around with a bit left in and painted one of the window frames constructed out of salvaged roofing battens. Still plenty to do but it was not entirely pointless slapping a bit of paint on at this stage, gives a better impression of what the finished article, should it ever be completed, might look like as a bit of an aim and encouragement.

This looks nicely distressed, and its the white lettering on an orange background, has every chance to be an original, now resident upstairs in Northern Edge Coffee Roasters in Berwick.
