:lol: :lol: And long may it last! Getting the wheels balanced will be a great improvement...

What does the Lexia say about the Aircon Mike?

Or is it just a flap problem?

I haven't had the Lexia on it yet Jim as it all works.

AC leaks apparently - that's what Chris told me. All the flaps and controls appear to work ok . If I set it to 16 it goes cool, if I set it to 21 it goes warmer. However there is no cooling of air going on. If the air is 25c outside, that's you get blown at you if you set it to 16 as it furiously tries to cool the interior.

Well I have the Berlingo, which Mrs Northern_Mike likes, the C5 which takes me to work which Mrs Northern_Mike likes, the DRK which works, for fun, and a bicycle that cost twice as much as the C5 to keep me fit which I've just been out on for the afternoon. I won't be buying another car for some time as I've rediscovered my love of travelling and I'd rather spend my money traipsing around the world to South America, Oz and Japan rather than on French tat cars.

Mike re the AC if it's got a leak the chances are that it'll be from the condenser so take a look through the radiator grill at it where you may be able to spot the leak by way of an oily area especially at the sides/bottom corners, failing that pop over and I'll put my UV light and sniffer across it. It'll more than likely have been refilled with dye at some point if Chris said it's leaking, FYI new condensers are around £100.

That would be most kind of you Richard, I'll pop it round sometime at your convenience, and I can also collect the Berlingo Haynes, if you've not fed it to Barney or used it to line the rabbits hutches yet..

Well, today, we decided on an impromptu trip to Brussels to see some friends who are over there from Colombia, so we're catching the 6:40am Dover-Calais Ferry in the morning, which means a 4am start from Twyford.

Decided on taking the C5, as it's as economical at the speeds I will fancy going at, and quieter than the Berlingo.

Can't think I've missed anything. Checked;;;

Oil, water, tyres.

Had all 4 wheels balanced. They were well out - 3 of them are actually buckled, so they used rim weights instead of stick on ones after explaining and showing me why. The car is much better at high speed now and doesn't shake at all. I also cleaned all the windows - LIDL cheapo glass cleaner. Works a treat and smells nice too.

Have all the kit I need for France in the AA Euro kit thing I bought, stashed under the passenger seat. Filled up with diesel. Filled up with screenwash, checked and cleaned all the lights.

Anything I've forgotten? Got my phone mount properly placed, got 2A USB adaptor plug which turns the fag lighter into a USB power socket to power it and google maps set up to direct me on the phone..

Thinking of calling in on Dunkirk on the way past, just to see where my granddad fought in the war. I shall take his Black Watch cap badge with me, for reasons I feel I must, yet don't quite understand.

Have a good time! Have you got a breathalyser kit? Now required in the vehicle by Les Gendarmes AFAIK - in fact you need 2, as otherwise if they ask you to use one, you are then committing an offence by not having one!!

There only has to be one Malcolm, reachable from the driver's seat, which it it. I have all the other required gubbins.

Not sure what the speed limit is in Belgium. Stuck to 140 due to lack of signs ;-) . Now stopped about 50km from Brussels for kiddie toilet stop or would already be there.
