Re: Picture(s) of the day....
When I first came across it that is exactly what I thought it was mainly because of its size, however then I turned it over and read the maker on the bottom and I was surprised. It is not Matchbox!! It is a well known maker though, I am not chasing an obscure eastern promise!! Note the front door quarterlight!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Well the front quarter light is a Triangle so would Tri-ang be the maker? 90% sure I had a Triang spot-on red Austin Healey Spritemickthemaverick wrote: 08 Jan 2021, 16:29 When I first came across it that is exactly what I thought it was mainly because of its size, however then I turned it over and read the maker on the bottom and I was surprised. I like the thought train but that's another one eliminated!NewcastleFalcon wrote: 08 Jan 2021, 16:46Well the front quarter light is a Triangle so would Tri-ang be the maker?mickthemaverick wrote: 08 Jan 2021, 16:29 When I first came across it that is exactly what I thought it was mainly because of its size, however then I turned it over and read the maker on the bottom and I was surprised. Well this from Corgi looks pretty adjacent but how does it relate to those cryptic clues I wondermickthemaverick wrote: 08 Jan 2021, 16:29 When I first came across it that is exactly what I thought it was mainly because of its size, however then I turned it over and read the maker on the bottom and I was surprised. Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Yes You have tracked it down Neil, I cannot remember them making this scale which is why I was confused by it. I think it is 1/64th rather than their normal 1/43rd scale, almost identical to matchbox. You can see it does not have the suspension which Corgi became famous for. Here is the evidence:
I am not sure which cryptic clues you are referring to. When I mentioned the quarterlight I was pointing out the difference between mine and the Matchbox model you posted.

It was this phrase "I am not chasing an obscure eastern promise!!" which I thought was one of your "clues".

And I always wondered what PIFCO stood for... Thanks to the FCF I now knowNewcastleFalcon wrote: 08 Jan 2021, 18:10I spotted Made In Hong Kong earlier today on one of The Provincial Incandescent Fittings Co. of Manchester's finest...mickthemaverick wrote: 08 Jan 2021, 17:41 Aah!! PIFCO was always considered to be rubbish back in the day... That opinion generally applied to all their products...
The range of products they made was rather extensive as I recall... Even hairdryers!

Sunrise
At the top of Tinto again, with Dillon this time. Sun not hiding behind the clouds - it was baltic though, -12 in the carpark, and there was a good breeze blowing.

I've found someone else who knows about Bob Ross!! I enjoy watching him work and have had a few goes at his style but so far it is better to stick to the camera methinks!!

Bob's a family favourite
Sunrise from Richard this morning, and one of those sunsets from me where with the naked eye no need at all for increasing the colour saturation, vivid natural blues, oranges and pinks. This was my effort with the camera....
