My run on this gorgeously cold, crisp, clear and frosty morning 8-) Quite pleased at how this snap came out... As I ran past it I thought it looked quite interesting with the bright forecourt lighting contrasting strongly with the dark night sky...

My artistic side desperately trying to exert itself

Almost Hopper-esque Jim I very much like that genre of image. One of his quotes "More of me comes out when I improvise." Keep exerting your artistic side Jim!

You would need your spiked shoes to run here this morning Jim, a couple of inches of snow.

Snow was forecast for us last night - or this morning - or tomorrow - or sometime this winter, haven't seen any yet.

Wildlife club Picture of the Day

Simon King was giving Ellie Harrison a few tips on wildlife photography on Countryfile. I thought I'll give that a try.
For once he ditched his huge lens so often used for those amazing wildlife close ups, and got out a phone camera.

They took a few photos of "ordinary" used-to-people birds/squirrels in a Bristol park by literally getting down to their level, camera on the ground, and took some interesting images with the pigeons/jackdaws/ squirrels etc approaching right up to the camera. They did tempt them with some treats.

Well I missed the treats bit (yes that was the major mistake), but saw a group of fairly approachable ducks on the river, used to being fed by all and sundry at that spot, but they didn't come close enough :-D

Milton Keynes mud  It's made of finest Oxford Clay and when wet has a coefficient of friction several orders of magnitude less than PTFE!
