Not sure how to do a link but if you search for "Was ist die Hydropneumatik?" on YouTube you'll find a 1970's from Citroen explaining the how the hydropneumatic suspension works. Unfortunately it's in German but turn the sound down and watch nearly 15 minutes of French automotive lovelyness.
