In the US Federal law mandates a statutory 10 years. As the above shows, EU law stipulates a sliding scale of 7 to 10 years. Major appliances/goods falling into the upper category.

I can't see any reference in that to vehicles - only electrical goods......

Exactly.......

Also, the "agreement" has the (what a surprise) interesting stipulation that it is for Sub-marks of cars.....so only the latest version of the car.....so for example the 2010 138bhp C5X7 is very out of date vrs the later ones it is not ALL C5x7 !.....

EU/UK producers have a LOT of power over their governments/consumer law makers to the detriment of Joe-Public...........a LOT more so than in the USA, they are streets ahead of us on this aspect of their law and consumers ability to challenge producers. (class actions etc)

Some would say it is a cartel

I see no problem with him using his native language....it is easy to translate as you have just done....

(It is VERY rare to have to do it here and as he is helping a LOT of C5x7 owner I think an exception can be made.)

I disagree. It may be easy for some people but in order for this information to be available for the most number of people it should be in English to start off with. This is such an important topic that wide distribution of the knowledge should be encouraged.

I answered in the language of the interviewer....
but I corrected it to your English.
I have no problem with that, I don't speak the language and a translator translates everything for me.

"Should be"....but was not.

It is hard enough to get people in Europe to ship anything to the UK at the moment because of the hoops all of our wonderful political leaders have decided to place in our ways....as such many European people have just have "given up" shipping to the UK/Outside the EU....lets not start "insisting" on such trivial matters when it takes seconds to translate and post a translated quote as a follow-on post.

Maybe we (us long term members) should look upon it as a "service" to the FCF members AND those who have the good grace and have taken the time to post on the FCF, a website that is not in their native language.

I would not "insist" a visitor to my house use English if they struggled with it.....I would make the effort to translate/provide my phone etc to facilitate them to communicate.
