The ambassador was based on the series 3 Morris Oxford from about 55-56 and that had a starting handle - I had one, the car that is.

We in the workshop missed the starting handle when it died out, it was useful when working on engines, adjusting valve clearances and static timing etc.

Unless they have sold it on since 2017, "our own" PSA groupe own the "Ambassador" brand having bought it from Hindustan Motors. The car itself ceased production in 2014. Probably a reasonable amount of goodwill in it in India, should PSA ever choose to revive the brand name for one of their models.

They seem to have the more modern plastic encased caps. I remember my cap bombs used the blue paper rolls of caps or the individual pink ones which came in pill boxes of 50 I believe!! We used to make our own bombs with two bolts screwed into either side of a thick nut with a couple of caps between them!! A few misfires while putting the second bolt in I fear! The cowboy guns used the caps as well so we used to get through loads of them until they brought out the Sekiden pellet guns which originally used some form of light plaster pellets which become plastic in later years and developed into BB shot I believe. I still have my BB shot firing tank upstairs!!

Apologies if I have posted this before. From the '50s if not earlier, based on a car type dynamo but larger and with a four pole field to reduce its operational speed.

Capable of about 25 amps at 12 volts. I think it fell down eventually but I still have the propeller and it hub. - not it didn't fall down, the front bearing failed.

How big was that Lucas fan? I reckon it would work well in my back yard which is like a wind tunnel at times.

3 foot long blade, don't know if there are any still about but you can get some fairly cheap Chinese wind turbines with a 3 foot blade. I had one here for some years.
