While the race is under red flag, how about SU 91467 24460? :-D

Close enough for government work, as we used to say :-D It's near enough, Mick, so well done. The actual spot was about ¼ mile due south. A well earned 6 points duly awarded

That's just magic :D I too love number patterns and spot them all over the place. I'm always on the lookout for them, especially palindromic numbers... I find they pass many by completely...

Zel is having a Lancia moment over on his blog, so here's something I have just dug out of my cupboard. Never been opened for 37 years, and disappointingly still not worth that much on ebay.

Anyone else keep old Haynes manuals for no practical purpose :?:

My first ever Haynes for the Mini saw so much use I think it fell to bits. I think I consulted every chapter with suitably grubby hands.
Collectors item? I doubt it

I,ve got loads of them, most of the cars I have had and a few others. I gave away quite a few a while back. I also have some from my early days of motoring. I will post some pictures when I remember.

Me too. I have a stack down at the mancave and some autobooks and owners manuals as well.

As for the Lancia theme (should that be themA? :-D) here is a picture of my most treasured Lancia which I have owned for over 40 years: :) :) :)

Going back to the photos of masts posted by Bobins a while back...

Here's part of the aerial farm at a radio station I worked at in the late 70s :) Note the rather lovely rotatable Log Periodic Array (LPA)

The rotator for this gorgeous array was a rather hefty motor driving a gearbox. Final drive was by a very chunky chain!

During my time doing a real job I overhauled a few of these arrays. They were mounted on a pivot and cold be lowered to the ground using a winch for maintenance.

Sadly, this station is long closed and now there is barely a trace of it :)

And back to masts again.....

There's 3 Facebook videos of the riggers removing the old, then installing the new TV arrays on the Midhurst transmitter. It all looks so easy when they use a HeliSwiss helicopter to do the heavy lift  Apparently they did this 3 years ago yesterday - I must have been asleep that day as I'm sure I would have noticed that going on

I keep looking at Stockland Hill mast every time I go past, wishing I could put my antennas up there. The SH 2m repeater used to be there, its now in the keepers garden about a mile from me.

It appears that the last young Osprey has begun her migration (she has not been seen in the Loch Arkaig area for a couple of days), but Andy Howard (who has done some serious planning) managed to get some underwater footage of an Osprey fishing. I think even a Kingfisher would be impressed!

I noticed he referenced Rothiemurcus on that tweet James. Just next to Aviemore described by Simon King as the best place in the World to watch Ospreys fishing at close quarters. It was the place where we first saw the Ospreys on a holiday many years ago now.

Very much worth a visit if travelling up the A9 through Aviemore.
