Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Well I have only pressed the shutter once today, and I am afraid it was a barrel scrape. It isn't even a good example of the breed. These things used to be one of the distinguishing features of a coach trip down to the coast, as well as the two tone blue sea and sky lampposts these used to decorate the approach as you got nearer the seaside down the coast road.
Come of folks, from your archives or from more recent snapping you must be able to do as well as this
At least there is a minor link with my clinker with pokers being the weapon of choice for removing clinker from fire-bars, and I am sure that their botanical name isnt red hot poker so maybe someone can research that and enlighten botany club. Obviously not a UK native plant so where did they originally come from

I have bought some various face coverings/masks, and here are a few pictures. They are all my own work.

This evening (five minutes prior to posting) I saw a rather lovely double rainbow from my bedroom window. I have managed to capture the different contrast between the space within the arc and outside of it;

Odd pair of signs at today's lunch pub in Broom Road Teddington, if the distant sign is out of focus it is the pub name “The Anglers”.

..and here's a pub from Teletubbies which has provided me with a bit of investigative entertainment.
If any of you folks have darkened the doors of the London Borough of Hounslow, you may recognise it.
No point going on a pilgrimage now though, it has gone and been replaced with a bit of new housing confirmed in the conclusion to the investigation.
Simple internet search reveals an image and a rough location.
Regards Neil

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
A couple for Botany club to conclude my crop of shutter pressing for today.
Whether these purples are part of a deliberate mix for green manure to improve the land I dont know. The land in question is on the approach to the airfield at newcastle airport and has various bits of "equipment" lights whatever for airport purposes, but outside the boundaries of the airfield itself.
and these pretty little minature yellow and orange flowers were in the hedgerow in front of the boundary fence of the Airport.
Regards Neil
