Do you ever wonder what they're thinking when you're snapping away?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
The trick of the light makes it almost look two tone.
Peter you and others may find this post I put on Remember these all our yesterdays interesting. It links to a website dealing with the Broadcast Engineering Conservation Group. Has an excellent article on outside broadcasts of the BBC and how they used The Series III Humber Super Snipe Estate, then DS Estates and then The CX Estate for camera work on outside broadcasts especially horse racing where the vehicle followed the action.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
It wasn't a trick of the light Neil, it was two tone. It was red when I bought it and I seem to remember that the roof was black, anyway I was told it looked like a hearse so I resprayed the top and bottom with silver-grey Hammerite. I resprayed it white after that - I did those sort of things in those days, I will put a picture on if I can copy it.
Strange you mentioned the Super Snipe camera cars because that's what my friends was, it had a rack on the roof and steps up, again I seem to remember it was in the '50s or '60s. I remember him taking the gearbox out by lowering it on to his chest and sliding out from underneath.
Haven't looked at the article yet but will try to.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Mrs Bobins has been steadily going through her late father's stamp collection - she's just finished Finland. A couple of nice stamps from there below. Sooner or later she'll come across France so might be able to post some French car related stamps....... but there's somewhere between half a million and a million stamps in the collection, so there might be quite a wait
We haven't come across any Cayman Penny Blues yet

I can see the fascination in collecting stamps..... not sure I can see the fascination to the same level my late father in law did though !

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
It was a fairly common activity among primary school pupils in my time. I still have my albums upstairs and I'll have a sift through to see if there are any that might interest the FCF.

There is a receptacle here, for car-related stamps where amongst others the Eire Hilman Imp stamp recently reappeared in "Find the answer in the FCF Thread.
