This is not a blue flower

....but having photographed many flowers recently, I have discovered that my little digital camera is not alone in not being able to photograph the colour purple very well. That flower was as purple as purple can be.

TV cameras have a similar issue filming blue lights at night. Just look at film of flashing blue emergency lights such as police, ambulance, and fire engines.

As for your photo, it's a purple - not blue - iris :)

I went for a walk by the River Kennet where it joins the River Thames, hoping I would find some water fowl. It is safe to say I was not disappointed.

Not quite so beautiful, same car as in the earlier picture after my wife demolished a bus shelter with it. Its a testament to the cars build that she wasn't injured.
