Ahh yes of course :wink: That wheel was built during the great Lithuanian spoke shortage and they had to resort to anything they could find... Hence the coat hangers...

Wrong, they are not coat hangers, they are 1970's car radio antenna's, they used up old stock.

They were at least vertical, unlike my next and last bike, a Velocette 500 single 8-) .

It's quite possible this is what happens to the back wheel if you apply the brakes and pedal like the clappers all at the same time.

That's twisted spoke lacing. Strong but impossible to true. Crows foot lacing is better if you need fancy spoking.

Have to admit the homage to "Its life Jim, but not as we know it" does come from that song.
